A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

Terminal Roulette is a Russian roulette game that is executed from the terminal.

You play 10 rounds, and your chances of losing increase.

The thing that makes this game unique is that you are the one choosing what happens when you lose! Before the game starts, the game asks you to type a command that will be executed once you lose. You can type anything, from a simple command that clears the terminal to a more dangerous command that shuts down your computer. However, as stated in the game: "It is your responsibility on what the command you type does to you or your computer!".

There is also some little story behind the game, but it's kinda hard to understand it...

Executable notes:

· On Windows, run the "run.bat" file. According to my testing, the colors don't appear on the Windows terminal, so the Windows version doesn't have colors by default. If you want to try adding colors, you can follow the notes about the "no color" version below and just install the "game.luac" file and use that instead of the "game(no color).luac" file.

· On Linux, run the "run.sh" file.

· The ".luac" files can run on all Operating Systems (I hope), but you need to have Lua installed. You can run them normally with Lua.

· Because some terminals don't support ANSI color codes, you can also install the "no color" version. Just install the normal version and swap the "game.luac" in the normal version with the "game.luac" you will get from the "no color" version.

I randomly found a seed when testing the game that is lucky and passes all the rounds you can pass! If you want to see the ending, you can use it. There are instructions in the game on how to apply the seed. The seed is: 1737637077

The reason I like this game is because it offers a fun way to shut down my computer... My favorite commands to use are the "clear" command ("cls" on Windows) and the shutdown command (I am not telling you the exact command as I am not sure if it forces a shutdown or shutdowns safely).

Remember though:

"It is your responsibility on what the command you type does to you or your computer!"

Also, it was really hard to find a Lua binary in order to publish this game. I built the Linux one on my system after installing the "lua-5.4.7.tar.gz" file from the Download Lua website and I installed the Windows one from here. If anyone knows a way where I can easily get Lua binaries for the Lua version 5.4.7, please tell me. Thanks.

That's it! Enjoy the game!
